Not A Girl’s Girl. Why You Should Still Care for Kylie.

This blog has spoilers.

A girl name Kylie yelling.

Now I get Kylie Torres is not a girl’s girl. It is very obvious. She bullies Sammatha (from Varsity Girls) and contributed to ruining Mia (from Varsity Girls) relationship with Rap Line’s Leo. But Kylie testimony is a testimony I find interesting as I work on the development of volume three. I think Kylie only shows hate to Sammatha and Mia because they both have a common denominator and that is Leo.

In my life, I have run into many Kylies. Or you may be Kylie yourself. You may have had a major crush on some pretty boy and the boy somehow chooses a ‘much less attractive girl’ over you. I have seen many ladies grow bitter and hatred towards the ‘much less attractive girl’ and instead of healing and moving on, they choose to bash and be a bully.

However I want to challenge you to see Kylie’s perspective and extend grace to the gal. Kylie has been incredibly led on by Leo to the point it was borderline possessed and manipulated. It is argued that she got the bad apple version of Leo while Mia and Sammatha got a ‘better version’. From peer pressure to drinking alcohol to being led on a romantic partner to Leo, Kylie of course grew a hatred for Sammatha and Mia. Well mostly Sammatha, her former best friend who used to hide in the shadows of the group’s success before breaking through as a lead singer.

Kylie thought a full face of makeup, and saying yes to every request Leo made would make him love her but yikes. Like Kylie would say, “No hun. That’s not the case.”

So Kylie no longer becomes a girl’s girl. The once JV Girl grew a bitter, envy hatred for nearly every girl in Switch. Insulting whomever she pleases, just to make herself feel better. Though I like to admit that this is all in Kylie’s testimony. She does eventually become a changed woman but she has to heal. Instead of not liking Kylie, extend grace to her for she was battling a lot of insecurities within herself.

Now you know who is a girl’s girl? Courtney. Got no beef and held no sides nor grudges.

Crazy huh?
