01/15/13: Sneak Out, Crash Out

This story's purpose is to expose sin, not to glorify. As a reader, you are challenge in identifying what is considered sin or Christ-like. Remember, you are reading a testimony. Therefore, if God can help them, then He can do so much more for you!

Jesus can heal you.
Jesus can redeem you.
Jesus can save you.

“Xan hurry up,” Theo begged as he waited in the blistering cold.

Despite not being allow off the BFF estate, some of members of Switch decided to sneak out and explore Manhattan. All who tag along the risky adventure was Theo, Xan, Courtney, Jermany, Carlos, and Brittany.

“Okay we have two hours to kill before Leo comes to pick us up,” Theo pointed to his watch.

Coming out the porter potty that was place near Central Park was Xan, feeling disgusted as ever.

Xan cried, “All these buildings I could had went to and relieve myself. Did it really have to be the porter potty.”

Carlos chuckled as he held Brittany tight to keep her warm from the arctic chills.

Carlos said, “You must had forgot that you are now a Switch member. Better get use to this lifestyle.”

Xan was in disbelief, “What about the Square Arena? Is that not a safe zone to go and you know…”

“No,” Jermany laughed, “We can’t just walk up to the Square Arena. We aren’t even suppose to be near the city. Let alone inside the city. If we get caught, Mr. Smith will have a field day with us.”

“Shouldn’t be near the city my butt.”

Everyone turned around and was shock to see David, Zachary, Maxwell, and Sammatha.

David continued, “How much shopping did you get to do so far?”

Courtney rolled her eyes, “Haha, very funny David.”

David reached into his pocket and pulled out a hundred dollars cash. He became full of pride as he flaunted his five 20 dollar bills in front of everyone.

“Where you get that?” Theo questioned.

David pointed to Zachary, who seem very annoyed.

David smiled, “Let’s just say Zachary is very generous when it comes to hush-hush money.”

Zachary grabbed David by the hood and stared deep into his eyes.

“Chill Zachary,” Theo said, “We are in public.”

Carlos walked over to Zachary and beg him to release David. Following through he took a few steps back and sat on the bench.

“What are you going to do with the money?” Maxwell asked.

Everyone looked at David with great anticipation.

         “Place some bets as usual.”

         “Oh brother.”

                  “Seriously.”

                           “You got to be joking.”

                  “Why did I even asked?”

David quickly tuck the money into his pocket.

“What? I got a good feeling about this basketball game that coming up. I could flip 100 dollars into a 1000 easily.”

Zachary cringed at David statement.

“You always say that but end up losing the 1000 dollars the next day.”

“Man whatever. Xan do you gamble?” David asked.

Xan looked at Varsity Line (plus Sammatha) with great confusion.

“No? Never had the opportunity to do so.”

“Well if you ever want to -”

Theo stopped David’s words, “Don’t listen to him. I went gambling with him a few times. Walk away feeling goofy. Anyways, where’s Romeo?”

Maxwell replied, “He didn’t want to go.”

“Of course he didn’t want to go,” Theo sighed.

Then suddenly Theo looked at Brittany and Courtney.

         “What?” Brittany asked.

“Why didn’t Brionna come?” Theo asked.

Carlos and Jermany looked at each other with great concern.

         “Theo. Just wait,” Jermany said.

Theo slowly started to walk away from the group as he emotions gain to a level ten.

“Theo stop. We are in public. Don’t assume anything about those two,” Carlos said as he rush to Theo’s side. Some pedestrian pass by, curious in what is going on.

Zachary glanced at the others then back at Carlos and Theo.

Letting out a big sigh, he signal for all of Varsity Guys to huddle around Theo.

Creating a small knit circle, Sammatha, Brittany, and Courtney stood off to the side. They were in charge of making sure no paparazzi was found in sight.

“Why did you tag along with your brother to the city?” Brittany asked Sammatha.

Sammatha shrugged her shoulder, not wanting to say a word.

Courtney said while looking around, “Who wouldn’t want to get out the house. Love Mia to death but her relationship with Leo is suffocating.”

“Tell me about,” Sammatha softly said.

Courtney and Brittany eyes open wide towards her statement.

Sammatha looked at the two and said, “Wait! Wait! I didn’t mean it like that. I meant…”

Brittany place her hand on Sammatha shoulder.

“You don’t need to explain. I think everyone is a bit overwhelm with Mia dating Leo. Ever since Ex-S Records made us all get Instagrand accounts, my feed has been filled with fanfic stories about the two.”

Courtney was baffled by Brittany’s concern. She said, “Says the girl who dating Varsity Lead singer and heartthrob Carlos. My timeline is full of fanfic stories and poorly photo shop pictures of you two.”

         “Girl please.”

         “Its true.”

“Anyways,” Brittany said, “Not easy to be dating Carlos sometimes. Lately he has been more interested into being very… intimate. I had a near pregnancy scare just a few days ago.”

Courtney nudge Brittany.

She questioned, “Pregnancy scare? Why didn’t you tell me? Did you not pay attention in church? Sex is after marriage and Carlos hasn’t got on one knee just yet. How could you?”

Brittany was amazed by Courtney’s comment.

“See that why I didn’t want to tell you. God knows my heart and He knows Carlos heart.”

“So you think He is going to just understand and let you continue having sex? You are both 17. How could you possibly find such interest? Where are you even doing this? Not in our room? Not next to my bed?”

Before Brittany could respond, David called out, “Why aren’t you keeping an eye out!”

Everyone turned around and saw three paparazzi hiding behind some trees off in the distant. By God’s grace, they didn’t notice who they were. They were too busy taking pictures of some lady and her dog.

“Theo, we got to go,” Zachary said pulling him off the ground.

“Romeo better not be thinking of asking out Brionna,” Theo said standing up.

         “And why’s that?” Maxwell asked.

Theo held his tongue, not wanting to reveal his true feelings.

“We need to go man before the paparazzi know who we are,” Zachary said.

Carlos signal for Brittany, Courtney, and Sammatha to join them for there walk in the city.

With their hoodies and scarfs tightly secure, they went into different shops.

Finally, they were in a record store, surrounded by rows, upon rows of CDs and vinyls.

“Hey Xan,” Carlos said, waving him down to talk in private.

Xan, still being fresh meat from the butcher shop, walk over to him.

         “What’s wrong?”

“How’s the production on Brittany’s solo album?”

Xan loosen his scarf a bit, wishing to not speak.

“I’m her man. I need to know,” Carlos pleaded.

“Sorry Carlos. It is her request that it be private until release.”

Carlos was not to happy with his response.

Xan added, “I will say I talk to Lisa. You have a song that you are working on called Gorilla Love. Want some advice that you didn’t ask for?”

Carlos was taken back, “What’s wrong with the song? Its my best work. Ex-S Records believes I can win a VVMA with that song.”

Xan lower his voice and lean towards him. He said, “I’m sure it will win a VVMA. There is not doubt about that. However the lyrics… you have to change it. The lyrics are inappropriate.”

“My lyrics are a work of art,” Carlos whispered back.

“Who help you write it? Leo? Jean? Surely not Kendrick?”

         “No one help me.”

Xan was not having it. He begged, “You have to change the lyrics. Talking about your… intimacy with Brittany in a very… You know what I mean. Its a nasty song.”

Carlos was not having it, “No one ever listens to what the lyrics are actually about Xan.”

Xan was baffled by Carlos’ words. He said, “I am sure Brittany does and if you are sitting on a song that will win you a VVMA, she probably going to be stuck listening to it for the rest of her life. Every time she turns on the radio or for every tour stop, she will have to watch you perform a digusting song that paints her in a bad light. Do you want that kind of blood on your hands or do you want to win a VVMA that badly.”

Carlos shook his head, “You don’t understand. I need to provide this group with a VVMA. I’m lead singer of Switch. I’ve done three studio albums already and none of them made the nominations.”

“You have me and Lisa. Let us help you make a hit,” Xan insisted.

“No,” Carlos whispered, “Its my best work. Everyone in the industry makes disgusting songs about sex and drugs. Why can’t I join the fun? Or am I stuck with the cookie cutter Kidz bopz sound for the rest of my life.”

“First off, Switch doesn’t have that sound of music. Its clean songs for a clean sober audience. I may not understand the God you serve, but judging by what the pastor said last Sunday, YOU aren’t suppose to be like the world. If the world or America thinks its okay to make nasty, inappropriate music, fine. But you can’t be willing to do it for yourself and risk your relationship with Brittany. Where’s your morals? Standards in life?”

“Shoot. Go to the back,” Theo said pushing Xan and Carlos to the edge of the store.

“What’s wrong?” Xan asked rushing to the back exit.

No words were exchange until everyone was in the back alley of the store.

“Paparazzi. Rent must be due soon,” David said huffing and puffing.

CLICK! CLICK! CLICK!

Out of nowhere a camera man came out from the dumpster.

“CARLOS IT IS RUMOR THAT YOU ARE RELEASING NEW MUSIC VERY SOON! ANY THOUGHTS? HOW DOES EVERYONE FEEL ABOUT THE AFTERMATH OF BATTLE OF THE BANDS? WILL JV GUYS EVER MAKE A COMEBACK? WHO THE NEW GUY? HEY SIR!”

“Leave us alone! Get a life or something,” Theo said irritated.

Jermany reach out his phone and called Leo.

         “Give me this.”

Zachary, feeling down and depress, grab the reporter camera and smash it to the ground. Then he open it and stole the SD card.

“Hey you can’t do that! That was a 3,000 dollar camera,” Cried the reporter.

“You could had got us in trouble with…”

Zachary looked up at Carlos who was signaling for him to be quiet.

         “[Redacted] this is dumb.”

Zachary reach out his wallet and gave the man some hush money.

“What am I suppose to do with 500 dollars?” Cried the reporter.

“Go buy a plane ticket to your hometown and never return,” Zachary said.

Theo walk over to the shatter camera and spat on it.

“You can sell my spit to a crazy fan. That should be enough to pay for your camera,” Theo said.

The reported manifested and jumped out the dumpster, ready to fight.

With one swing, he punched Zachary in the face.

Maxwell immediately took a hold of Sammatha and flee down the alley. He was worry that the reporter would have a knife or even worst, a gun.

As they made it to the end, they ran into Leo and Mia. Apparently they were dining at the restaurant next door.

“Jermany called. What’s wrong?” Leo asked.

Maxwell pointed down the alley where Zachary, David and Theo were fighting the reporter.

Quickly he rush down the alley.

“Take that!” Theo said kicking the man in the stomach.

Jermany, Xan, and Carlos tried to pull the three back from beating up the poor guy. Though Zachary, David, and Theo were heated.

         “STOP IT!” Leo yelled.

Suddenly the fighting stop.

The man was terrified. He even peed on himself.

“Chill Leo,” Zachary sighed, “No security camera in site.”

Leo was very annoyed.

“No security camera in site until we leave the alley. We are in so much trouble.”

The man stumble to stand up and pulled out a pocket knife.

         “I’M GOING TO KILL YOU!”

The man grab Leo’s shoulder and was centimeters away from stabbing him. However Leo reacted swifly and put the man into a choke hold.

In Portuguese he started saying some very menacing words to him.

Fear strike everyone in that moment.

Switching to English he said, “You will never speak of this day. If you do I will [Redacted].”

Whatever Leo had told him it scared the man in great masses.

He continue, “Now leave and don’t turn around.”

         “Yes sir. Yes sir.”

“Now why would you say that to him!” Xan said Portuguese.

Leo’s eyes open in great shock. He had totally forgot that Xan knew Brazilian Portuguese.

“He’s going to tell the police,” Xan continued in his mother tongue, “Are you all that dumb! Why would you threaten his family?!?! BLACK LIST TALK???? What did I sign up for? You all are crazy!!!”

The rest of the members looked at Xan, trying to decipher what he was saying. Judging by his body language, he looked super stress out.

“WHY WOULD YOU THREATEN TO KILL HIS FAMILY??!!!”

Sammatha broke out of Maxwell’s embrace and rush to the rest of the group.

“What happen?” She asked. However it wasn’t long until she saw that Leo’s wrist go cut a bit. This trigger her very badly… causing her to step back slowly.

“STOP RIGHT THERE! THIS IS N.Y.P.D.! PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR!”

Zachary quickly sent a secret code to the BFF group chat.

Meaning they needed a bail out from police station.

Theo, Zachary, David, and Leo didn’t resist as the cops detain them.

Wasn’t like it was their first time being arrest and it surely wasn’t their last time.

“Tell Lily to prepare the bail money,” Zachary said to Xan.

Xan was scared for his life.

         “What does that even mean?!?”

Before Zachary could say anything else, he was shove into the police car.

“We spent like 30 minutes in jail,” David smiled.

“Do you take pride in that?” Questioned the interviewer.

“No,” Theo said, “But during that time of my life… I didn’t care. I was going through a lot, especially that day. I needed a punching bag and the reporter guy was the near one in my area.”

Xan said in his taping, “I was really scared for my life. I though Switch was a group with well behave teenager who so happen to be famous. I didn’t know that the group was stack with ‘Get-out-of-jail-cards’ and secret connections who can cover up any news about them.”

The interviewer asked, “Where did Switch get these secret connections?”

David laughed, “Oh… Well… I use to play poker with a group of individuals who were the sons and daughter of the Hollywood elite. Fun gals. But real talk, I truly believe it nothing but God’s grace and mercy that none of us ended up in prison. Which none of us wanted to go to prison. We only did the cover up drills because we didn’t want those who were innocent to get in trouble with Mr. Smith.”

The interviewer asked, “Wouldn’t it been best to not fight and simply walk away from the situation.”

Leo respond, “Sure… But we didn’t. Our moral compass was all over the place. One day we are in church praising the Lord, then the next day we are acting like we didn’t know the Lord. Typical Switch behavior. Typical Leo Sanchez-Junit behavior… expect I got worst every month, week, day, and hour that pass by. Signs of my crash out were on the horizon.”
