07/01/11:
BFF meets Maknae Part II

Untitled_Artwork 9_edited.png

This story's purpose is to expose sin, not to glorify. As a reader, you are challenge in identifying what is considered sin or Christ-like. Remember, you are reading a testimony. Therefore, if God can help them, then He can do so much more for you!

Jesus can heal you.
Jesus can redeem you.
Jesus can save you.

Later in the evening was dinner time. The group was to be served alfredo pasta with creamy dumpling soup.

Located next to the kitchen was the dining hall. It was rather narrow and cramped with two long tables. The ridged brown walls and mustard yellow lighting, transported you to the roaring 1920s.

After making her plate, Alanna wandered into the dining hall. Quickly she came to a stop when she saw all of BFF (soon to be called Switch) in the room.

It was loud. There was so many different conversations going on, left and right.

Alanna glance around and saw an open seat by Brittany and Cameron.

“Hey Alanna, come sit by us,” Mazen waved from the corner of the room.

Alanna pondered on whether she should sit with her unit or her old pre-debut neighbors. After some thinking, she decided to walk toward the section where Varsity Girls were dining.

“Hi! What’s up,” Alanna said interrupting the girls conversation.

Courtney rose her eyebrow in question.

“Alanna…” Brittany said awkwardly, “Um what could we do for you?”

Before Alanna could say anything, Brionna said in her strong British accent, “Oh is this the Alanna from your neighbourhood? She so small. Hi my name is Brionna.”

Cameron smiled a bit. “She was the first person I met who knew how to run her mouth. I thought folks at military school were a chatter box but Alanna here can talk for days.”

“Well I matured since then,” Alanna said.

“I’m… sure you have Alanna,” Cameron said.

“Could I eat dinner with you all. I see you have an extra seat,” Alanna asked holding her plate up.

“Oh sorry,” Courtney plead, “We are saving it for Mia.”

                  “Varsity Girls only,” Brionna said.

Alanna glanced up and notice Jackie and Lily sitting on the other side of the room.

“Is that why Jackie and Lily aren’t sitting with you two?”

Brittany and Cameron shrugged.

“Jackie didn’t want to be in Varsity,” Brittany said.

“We tried to convince her,” Cameron added.

“But she turnt it down,” Brittany continued.

Cameron lower her voice and said, “And Lily could had made it to Varsity had her brother not tryout.”

Alanna hands started to turn red from holding the hot plate.

“Surely Maknae Line has a spot for you,” Brionna reassured.

“Yeah. I think they do,” Alanna said before dismissing herself.

Alanna felt a great amount of embarrassment. Sure she grew up with Brittany, Cameron, Lily, and Jackie. However she spent more trying to fit in with them, despite being much younger in age.

“Oh here she finally comes,” Kyan laughed.

Alanna plop herself down next to Kyan, feeling defeated.

“Rejection at its finest,” Mazen teased with a preppy accent.

Asia, who was sitting next to him, punch his arm.

“Ouch! It was a joke,” Mazen whined.

“Well the joke wasn’t funny,” Alanna said.

Kyan glance to his side and watch Simon sloppily eat his alfredo noodles. He had white sauce all over his face.

“Is the food good?” Kyan asked.

Simon pause midway his slurp session.

With food stuff in his mouth he said, “Sure. I guess?”

Meanwhile Asia was trying to figure out why Alanna wanted to sit by Varsity Girls.

She said, “Varsity Girls are like the popular cheerleaders of the football team. I don’t think you can just sit at there table for free.”

Mazen chime, “I agree. I tried to talk to Zachary and it was not a fun talk. I don’t care how good the guy can sing or dance. He is a jerk.”

Simon started to get annoyed with Kyan’s staring.

He pointed,“You should probably eat your food before it get cold.”

Kyan was still in awe, “Is your dad really that one rapper?”

Simon glanced at Kyan in anger.

         “I don’t have a dad.”

“But the fans say you look like-”

“See this line,” Simon said pointing from one side of the table to the next.

“This side is for JV members only. That side for Macan or Maknae members only. Your voice shouldn’t be crossing this path.”

Kyan apologize and slowly turn back to his unit.

“At least we get to sit next to…” Asia said secretly shifting her body to JV Guys.

Alanna blushed a bit as she check out Jean and Leo.

Meanwhile Kyan and Mazen were disgusted.

         “Jealous much?” Alanna asked.

Mazen openly said, “Ain’t nobody jealous. One day I am going to be doing laps around them. All the girls are going to want me.”

Asia laugh, “Let’s wait till puberty and see how you turn out.”

Kyan observed the ceilings and noticed a rusted, dusty mural, displaying many angels, seven lampstands, and seven stars.

“What are you looking at?” Mazen said.

Suddenly the four were looking at the ceiling.

         “What is it?” Alanna asked.

“Probably a mural of Heaven,” Asia said.

Kendrick who was sitting next to Asia notice the four staring at the ceiling.

“Its a Revelation chapter 1 mural,” Kendrick said to them.

Simon rolled his eyes.

         “What’s that?” Kyan asked.

Simon put his fork down and pointed up.

He said, “See, the seven stars represent the angels and the seven lampstands are the seven churches. Right Jean?”

Jean pause midway in his meal.

“That boy does not pay attention in teen church,” Leo said drinking his juice.

Jean replied, “I do too. It would be hypocritical for me to own a bust down cross chain and not know God’s word.”

“Then quote the scripture,” Leo said.

“You quote the scripture,” Jean said defensively.

Mazen gaze at the mural once more.

“Isn’t the book of Revelation about the whole return of Jesus and the end of the world.”

“Repent or go to hell,” Kendrick, Simon, Jean, and Leo said all together.

“I think there is more to it than ‘repent or go to hell’,” Asia said.

“Sure there is,” Simon said pulling out a blunt.

Maknae line was in shock as they watch Simon search his pockets for a lighter.

“Jean do you have a lighter on you?” Simon asked.

Jean replied, “No. How could you possibility want to smoke while eating dinner?”

Maknae Line watch Simon stand up and walk over to his sister Jordyn. Moments went by and he came back lighting his blunt.

He took in two puff before a large cloud came out his mouth.

Simon said, “So yeah Jesus Christ is suppose to one day come back and save us from this mess up world. But you have to repent. Remember, you have to repent. And accept him as your Lord and savior or something.”

Asia frown in disgust as she fan away the marijuana smell away from her face.

She said, “Do you think Jesus would want *cough cough* you to be smoking.”

Kyan started cough as well as the second hand smoking started to crawl through his nostrils and lungs.

“Yeah,” Kyan added, “Did we not grow up with the same shows? What happen to the say No 2 Drugs campaigns. Didn’t you see those commercials?”

Simon laughed before taking in another puff.

He replied, “One. Jesus knows my heart. Two. If you had my childhood, you two would be smoking as well.”

Leo looked at Simon upset.

“Put the blunt away,” Leo said.

Simon was in denial.

“I’ll smoke it outside,” Simon said before getting up.

“What about all those people who were lukewarm in their faith,” Asia asked.

Kendrick smiled in surprise.

“Ah so you read the book!” Kendrick said.

“I read some of it,” Asia said.

Jean took a sip of his drink before saying, “Our youth leader said you can’t be pregnant and not pregnant at the same time. You are either pregnant or not pregnant. Same goes for being a Christian. You either follow Christ all the way or Satan.”

Kendrick said, “Yeah so arguing with Cameron every waking minute is not very Christ-like.”

Jean shook his head, “My God knows my heart. If she didn’t always tick me off, I wouldn’t have to argue with her.”

Maknae Line was not impress by JV Guys (which was only four members at the time) evangelical approach to explaining the dusty mural above or even the Good News. Then again they were only 15ish years old back in 2011. Over time they will eventually know what the book of Revelation is REALLY about.
